[2009/12/03 16:13] EL RODO: xD
[2009/12/03 16:13] Adelle Fitzgerald: ok, well i have pretty much nothing to say really from the last meeting, it was kinda just a long chat, nothing really of relevance, so, unless Warin or Neb have anything they wanna start with, its over to you lot
[2009/12/03 16:13] Warin Cascabel: Nope, nothing here.
[2009/12/03 16:13] Sarvana Cherry: np
[2009/12/03 16:13] Andress Renall: Um Tim..
[2009/12/03 16:13] Timothy Hoxley: yes?
[2009/12/03 16:13] Darkeyes Marr is Online
[2009/12/03 16:13] Ruben Haan: Timo :)
[2009/12/03 16:14] Andress Renall: Ok wolf is laying down.
[2009/12/03 16:14] Timothy Hoxley: i can't help it
[2009/12/03 16:14] Kissmy Mubyrrah: Greetings Earthlings!!
[2009/12/03 16:14] Timothy Hoxley: x3
[2009/12/03 16:14] Zardoz Firanelli: Can we get translators in all the Plazas?
[2009/12/03 16:14] Andress Renall: Greetings little green one
[2009/12/03 16:14] Sarvana Cherry: click the white ball
[2009/12/03 16:14] Sarvana Cherry: or back of chair
[2009/12/03 16:14] Adelle Fitzgerald: there is a translator at Wright Plaza you can pick up
[2009/12/03 16:14] Kazzy Lumiere: Yeah I forgot about that, but yeah scripting is OFF
[2009/12/03 16:14] Mercalia Beck: the coders still have nt solved the phantom prim problem they introduded in after August
[2009/12/03 16:14] Adelle Fitzgerald: at the freebie garden
[2009/12/03 16:14] Timothy Hoxley: much better
[2009/12/03 16:14] Zardoz Firanelli: Yes but I can't rez it in the other plazas
[2009/12/03 16:15] Nebadon Izumi: sit on the ball
[2009/12/03 16:15] Nebadon Izumi: dont click it
[2009/12/03 16:15] Nebadon Izumi: ehe
[2009/12/03 16:15] Zardoz Firanelli: and scripts don't run
[2009/12/03 16:15] Nebadon Izumi: apparntly clicking it makes it poof
[2009/12/03 16:15] Kissmy Mubyrrah: ..greetings!
[2009/12/03 16:15] Sarvana Cherry: Greetings, my friend
[2009/12/03 16:15] Kissmy Mubyrrah: too bad kazzy cant sit at the table
[2009/12/03 16:15] Kissmy Mubyrrah: hi darkeyes
[2009/12/03 16:15] Adelle Fitzgerald: to put a translator into opensim itself is a big job, it requires the simulator to know everyones language, its not gonna happen soon at all
[2009/12/03 16:15] Sarvana Cherry: Darkeyes here
[2009/12/03 16:16] Sarvana Cherry: click white ball or back of chair
[2009/12/03 16:16] Andress Renall: I think they were asking for the boxes to be put in Lbsa to copy from.
[2009/12/03 16:16] Kazzy Lumiere: No, to have scripting enabled so they work at all
[2009/12/03 16:16] Kissmy Mubyrrah: hello andress
[2009/12/03 16:16] Zardoz Firanelli: Use Hank Ramos'
[2009/12/03 16:16] Adelle Fitzgerald: unless someone writes it as a module, i cant see it happening in the short run, and something lilke that certainly wont be written into core
[2009/12/03 16:16] Sarvana Cherry: If I crash, save my seat... hehe
[2009/12/03 16:16] Adelle Fitzgerald: scripting is enabled here
[2009/12/03 16:16] EL RODO: it's not that i really care about it. but yesterday i had a conversation with some fell@s at lbsa, and i started wondering.. what's the osgrid's policy about copyboted/not granted content exchange from grid 2 grid?. Really.. yesterday i was having my monthly rule. today i can think clearly
[2009/12/03 16:16] Andress Renall: Where is Hank's Zardoz?
[2009/12/03 16:16] Kissmy Mubyrrah: i am experiencing some bad lag in my network :(
[2009/12/03 16:16] Adelle Fitzgerald: it is turned off at Lbsa though
[2009/12/03 16:17] Nebadon Izumi: you can always copy and paste from a website based translater
[2009/12/03 16:17] Kissmy Mubyrrah: or not?
[2009/12/03 16:17] Sarvana Cherry: I had to relog
[2009/12/03 16:17] Kissmy Mubyrrah: i relogged 3x
[2009/12/03 16:17] Kazzy Lumiere: yeah and new people get dumped at Lbsa
[2009/12/03 16:17] Kissmy Mubyrrah: i will do again
[2009/12/03 16:17] Sarvana Cherry: then I crashed... hehe
[2009/12/03 16:17] Nebadon Izumi: ya we had grid wide issue
[2009/12/03 16:17] Nebadon Izumi: we had to restart a few times
[2009/12/03 16:17] Kissmy Mubyrrah: brb earthlings =)
[2009/12/03 16:17] Andress Renall: Ok hang on all we are getting off track hee..yes its a pain to copy paste from Google :)
[2009/12/03 16:17] Sarvana Cherry: yes, you don't look happy
[2009/12/03 16:18] Adelle Fitzgerald: Rodo, there are two sides to what you mention, its a very complex issue....
[2009/12/03 16:18] Andress Renall: But I keep a copy of the translator in my inventory. But yes can't use it at Lbsa.
[2009/12/03 16:18] Sarvana Cherry: hehe
[2009/12/03 16:18] Adelle Fitzgerald: OSgrid do not condone the import of 'pirated' copyright material whatsoever, but there is also little we can do about it
[2009/12/03 16:18] Nebadon Izumi: maybe we should talk to Adam about a tranlator MRM
[2009/12/03 16:18] EL RODO: but there should be a policy, right? allowed or not allowed. do what you want, or you can't do what you want
[2009/12/03 16:18] Timothy Hoxley: well doesn't emerald have a built in google translator?
[2009/12/03 16:18] Nebadon Izumi: that people can click or something
[2009/12/03 16:18] Nebadon Izumi: i dont see it happening fast though
[2009/12/03 16:19] Nebadon Izumi: but its possible it could be done via a MRM script
[2009/12/03 16:19] Andress Renall: I think so I've not looked at it.
[2009/12/03 16:19] Adelle Fitzgerald: we do have a DMCA form that people can file on request if someone want to file a report
[2009/12/03 16:19] Timothy Hoxley: and you can use it to connect to here?
[2009/12/03 16:19] Kissmy Mubyrrah: ...guess whos back?
[2009/12/03 16:19] Sarvana Cherry: Kissmy Mubyrrah, is that better for you?
[2009/12/03 16:19] Vampir Draken: hi hi
[2009/12/03 16:19] Adelle Fitzgerald: but also people may port over their own stuff, or other stuff, if they ahve the permission of the creators
[2009/12/03 16:19] Andress Renall: HeyVampir
[2009/12/03 16:19] Kissmy Mubyrrah: laaaaaaaaaaaaaag!
[2009/12/03 16:20] Adelle Fitzgerald: its a bit like policeing the web, its not something we can or will actively do
[2009/12/03 16:20] Adelle Fitzgerald: though we can and will react to complaints
[2009/12/03 16:20] Kissmy Mubyrrah: i am missing alot of things from my inventory WTF
[2009/12/03 16:20] EL RODO: that's great
[2009/12/03 16:21] Andress Renall: Kiss you didn't use Second Inventory recently have you?
[2009/12/03 16:21] Simulator Version shouts: OpenSim 0.6.9 (Dev) 9fd9211 2009-11-28 09:23:26 +0000 (OS Debian GNU/Linux 5.0
) ChilTasks:True PhysPrim:True
[2009/12/03 16:21] Kissmy Mubyrrah: brb, goin to celt for a min
[2009/12/03 16:21] EL RODO: i know that it sounds like i'm gonna report anything! really! but i think that not every single creator will be happy. there has to be a police system that actually works 4 ppl that needs it. Not my case. but..
[2009/12/03 16:22] Mercalia Beck: is there a problem with second inventory?
[2009/12/03 16:22] Adelle Fitzgerald: its an impossible task for us, OSgrid has no control of other peoples regions
[2009/12/03 16:22] EL RODO: i ve seen many mad users comming to sl cause they got banned from sl
[2009/12/03 16:22] Warin Cascabel: EL, there are over 3,000 regions. We don't have the resources to constantly patrol each one and magically guess which items in them are legit and which ones aren't.
[2009/12/03 16:22] Nebadon Izumi: ya thats 100% impossible
[2009/12/03 16:22] Adelle Fitzgerald: like I said, its like policing the web
[2009/12/03 16:22] Andress Renall: I have been told there is a little bug, I do not know at this time if it has been fixed, will drop or lock up your inventory.
[2009/12/03 16:22] Nebadon Izumi: to know if it was legitmatly brought over or not
[2009/12/03 16:23] Nebadon Izumi: absolutly no way we could ever know that
[2009/12/03 16:23] Nebadon Izumi: even if we wanted to do it
[2009/12/03 16:23] Nebadon Izumi: its impossible
[2009/12/03 16:23] EL RODO: i'm not saying PATROL. i'm saying place the right tools for ppl 2 complain
[2009/12/03 16:23] Nebadon Izumi: send us an email
[2009/12/03 16:23] Nebadon Izumi: thats all you gotta do
[2009/12/03 16:23] Warin Cascabel: abuse@osgrid.org
[2009/12/03 16:23] Nebadon Izumi: we will reply to you with a DMCA form
[2009/12/03 16:23] Andress Renall: We had a long discussion on object issue yesterday and its really in the creators hands.
[2009/12/03 16:23] Nebadon Izumi: you fill it out and email back
[2009/12/03 16:23] Nebadon Izumi: we will investigate it
[2009/12/03 16:23] Nebadon Izumi: theres really no other way to handle it
[2009/12/03 16:24] Nebadon Izumi: it requires Grid Admin intervention and we need to investigate it ourselves
[2009/12/03 16:24] EL RODO: great. that's it. all i was asking. i didn't know about your form
[2009/12/03 16:24] Nebadon Izumi: ya we have a form
[2009/12/03 16:24] Nebadon Izumi: its available upon request
[2009/12/03 16:24] Sarvana Cherry: I have a question... What is the possibility of being able to teleport to the "Featured Sites" shown when we log in?
[2009/12/03 16:25] Nebadon Izumi: on the login screen?
[2009/12/03 16:25] Nebadon Izumi: just click the link
[2009/12/03 16:25] Sarvana Cherry: I wan tto visit several of them... no link shown
[2009/12/03 16:25] Nebadon Izumi: oh you mean the screenshots?
[2009/12/03 16:25] Sarvana Cherry: yes
[2009/12/03 16:25] Nebadon Izumi: cant really
[2009/12/03 16:25] Nebadon Izumi: but
[2009/12/03 16:25] Nebadon Izumi: you can visit the gallery
[2009/12/03 16:25] Andress Renall: Just a note I am still gathering links for regions who want to be on tour.
[2009/12/03 16:25] Nebadon Izumi: and maybe glean the anme
[2009/12/03 16:25] Nebadon Izumi: name*
[2009/12/03 16:25] Nebadon Izumi: http://osgrid.org/gallery
[2009/12/03 16:25] Nebadon Izumi: not everyone tags them with a name
[2009/12/03 16:25] Sarvana Cherry: some look interesting... would love to visit or th ename
[2009/12/03 16:25] EL RODO: a "search" for the website general store will be great for new users. and oldies too
[2009/12/03 16:26] Nebadon Izumi: ya the store will eventually be totally redone
[2009/12/03 16:26] Nebadon Izumi: but its low priority at the moment
[2009/12/03 16:26] Nebadon Izumi: but no doubt it will change a lot in time
[2009/12/03 16:26] Zardoz Firanelli: Whats high priority now?
[2009/12/03 16:26] Kazzy Lumiere: once there's more content it'll be needed
[2009/12/03 16:26] Andress Renall: The general store is a nice solution to bring over items from other grids.
[2009/12/03 16:26] EL RODO: what's the big picture now? what is high priority now?
[2009/12/03 16:27] EL RODO: cuak. zardoz beat me
[2009/12/03 16:27] Zardoz Firanelli: lol
[2009/12/03 16:27] Nebadon Izumi: well at this point the grid software is highest priority
[2009/12/03 16:27] Timothy Hoxley: I would like to know if he OSgrid greeters could get a notecard of things we shouldn't tell users
[2009/12/03 16:27] EL RODO: cause i know nowthing about the latest improvements
[2009/12/03 16:27] Nebadon Izumi: the website might get totally redone also
[2009/12/03 16:27] Adelle Fitzgerald: the main prorities is keeping the grid running
[2009/12/03 16:27] Nebadon Izumi: were not very happy with Elgg
[2009/12/03 16:27] Timothy Hoxley: this was brought to my attention from talking to Adelle once
[2009/12/03 16:27] Nebadon Izumi: but we have not decided on anything yet
[2009/12/03 16:27] Adelle Fitzgerald: you would be supprised actually how much time it takes to keep it running smooth
[2009/12/03 16:28] Nebadon Izumi: our goal right now is to develop OpenSimulator
[2009/12/03 16:28] Nebadon Izumi: not really the OSgrid website
[2009/12/03 16:28] Nebadon Izumi: but we are working on both
[2009/12/03 16:28] Adelle Fitzgerald: there are also other things being worked on, such as the backend infrastructure, backups and such
[2009/12/03 16:28] Andress Renall: I have two things to bring up when the floor is clear.
[2009/12/03 16:28] Nebadon Izumi: but the grid software takes priority over the website
[2009/12/03 16:28] Nebadon Izumi: as its still Alpha
[2009/12/03 16:28] Nebadon Izumi: we are mid alpha testing still
[2009/12/03 16:28] Nebadon Izumi: beta is a good year or more off
[2009/12/03 16:29] Mercalia Beck: how close to beta is it?
[2009/12/03 16:29] Zardoz Firanelli: Ok, I was thinking you were operating as two seperate entities
[2009/12/03 16:29] EL RODO: yup..
[2009/12/03 16:29] Nebadon Izumi: on another topic, OpenSimulator turns 3 in Janurary
[2009/12/03 16:29] Mercalia Beck: ah ok
[2009/12/03 16:29] Sarvana Cherry: hI kEY
[2009/12/03 16:29] Nebadon Izumi: so start planning your parties now
[2009/12/03 16:29] Sarvana Cherry: Hi Key
[2009/12/03 16:29] Ruben Haan: :)
[2009/12/03 16:29] Adelle Fitzgerald: creating something that we can use as backups with as much redundancy as possible with the limited hardware we have isnt easy, and requires a lot of time for R&D to make it work, and cost effective
[2009/12/03 16:29] Kazzy Lumiere: OpenSim or OSGrid or both?
[2009/12/03 16:29] Nebadon Izumi: we'll likely post lots of info about parties on the website soon
[2009/12/03 16:29] Nebadon Izumi: OpenSim
[2009/12/03 16:29] Sarvana Cherry: we hav e aseat over here
[2009/12/03 16:29] Sarvana Cherry: Key
[2009/12/03 16:29] Nebadon Izumi: OSgrid Turns 3 in June
[2009/12/03 16:29] Nebadon Izumi: June or July
[2009/12/03 16:29] Nebadon Izumi: hehe
[2009/12/03 16:30] Nebadon Izumi: i cant remember without looking
[2009/12/03 16:30] Warin Cascabel: Jeez, has it been that long since OSG2B?
[2009/12/03 16:30] Adelle Fitzgerald: yup
[2009/12/03 16:30] Nebadon Izumi: heh
[2009/12/03 16:30] Nebadon Izumi: but it should be fun the OpenSimulator 2nd birthday was a lot of fun
[2009/12/03 16:30] EL RODO: meshes are too far away?
[2009/12/03 16:30] Nebadon Izumi: we had a few great parties here on OSgrid
[2009/12/03 16:30] Sarvana Cherry: great
[2009/12/03 16:30] Nebadon Izumi: id love to do it again, always looking for a reason to have parties
[2009/12/03 16:31] Andress Renall: First I would like to strongly ask if the powers that be will please convert the meeting times into something more friendly like the viewer time.
[2009/12/03 16:31] Sarvana Cherry: three more friend came inworld
[2009/12/03 16:31] Nebadon Izumi: the viewer time is wrong
[2009/12/03 16:31] Nebadon Izumi: should not be trusted
[2009/12/03 16:31] Andress Renall: Ok suggestions?
[2009/12/03 16:31] Sarvana Cherry: thanks
[2009/12/03 16:31] Nebadon Izumi: well people can post various times in thier postings
[2009/12/03 16:31] Nebadon Izumi: that might help
[2009/12/03 16:31] EL RODO: check your tray icon xD
[2009/12/03 16:31] Adelle Fitzgerald: we will be having another big event for OSG3B, right Neb?
[2009/12/03 16:31] Nebadon Izumi: UTC, PST, EST
[2009/12/03 16:32] Nebadon Izumi: oh ya
[2009/12/03 16:32] Warin Cascabel: Also, you can always Google "what time is it in UTC?" and it will tell you.
[2009/12/03 16:32] Arielle Popstar: what about a backup or redirction from Lbsa plaza when it is having issues?
[2009/12/03 16:32] Adelle Fitzgerald: cool :)
[2009/12/03 16:32] Nebadon Izumi: but 1st is OS3B
[2009/12/03 16:32] Nebadon Izumi: just OpenSimulator
[2009/12/03 16:32] Andress Renall: El the event times for the meetings are UTC half dozen of us were trying to figure it out even looking on Google to convert.
[2009/12/03 16:32] Nebadon Izumi: we should start thinking about some events
[2009/12/03 16:32] Adelle Fitzgerald: Arielle, OpenSim doesnt support that at the moment, it had been discussed before, and something we would love to implement, but its one of the lower priorities
[2009/12/03 16:32] Nebadon Izumi: start nailing down some performers etc..
[2009/12/03 16:32] Warin Cascabel: UTC is a preferable timezone, because it doesn't go in and out of Daylight Saving Time.
[2009/12/03 16:33] Kazzy Lumiere: and improve stability so it /doesn't/ go down as much
[2009/12/03 16:33] Andress Renall: Ok Ill drop that subject then.
[2009/12/03 16:33] Arielle Popstar: if my region isn up i get redirected so must be supported somehow
[2009/12/03 16:33] Adelle Fitzgerald: at the moment the only supported redirection it to Lbsa, if a login to another ergion fails
[2009/12/03 16:33] EL RODO: how about meshes in osgrid? is that too far away from reality?
[2009/12/03 16:33] Sarvana Cherry: I have 6 friends at my place in Teravus Plaza... an dwe just could not do it.... Crash... Crash... lag. What is the max # of people for a location. ?
[2009/12/03 16:33] Nebadon Izumi: it depends Sarvana
[2009/12/03 16:33] Nebadon Izumi: we have had 65+ users on Wright Plaza
[2009/12/03 16:33] Zardoz Firanelli: 48
[2009/12/03 16:34] EL RODO: it depends on your hardware, sys op, setting and internet connection Sarvana
[2009/12/03 16:34] Sarvana Cherry: I could not even get 6 in . hehe
[2009/12/03 16:34] Nebadon Izumi: how many people are here now?
[2009/12/03 16:34] Warin Cascabel: 15, if the Stats bar can be trusted.
[2009/12/03 16:34] Nebadon Izumi: 16 here now
[2009/12/03 16:34] Nebadon Izumi: i think
[2009/12/03 16:34] Adelle Fitzgerald: atm opensim is suffereing from bad memory leaks, the devs know about it but its like trying to find a needle in a haystack
[2009/12/03 16:34] Nebadon Izumi: ya 15 or 16
[2009/12/03 16:34] Andress Renall scratches Kazzy horn.
[2009/12/03 16:35] Kazzy Lumiere: hehe
[2009/12/03 16:35] Kazzy Lumiere rumbles
[2009/12/03 16:35] Andress Renall: How close are we to opening the new greeting area?
[2009/12/03 16:35] Sarvana Cherry: rumble back, my friend... heeh
[2009/12/03 16:35] Adelle Fitzgerald: further to that though, I managed to get the windows plazas (teravus & seaprior) to automatically restart in the event of an out of memory error
[2009/12/03 16:35] Warin Cascabel: It will be a while, Andress - texturing is taking longer than I'd hoped.
[2009/12/03 16:35] Andress Renall: Thanks Warin
[2009/12/03 16:35] Andress Renall: Keep me informed if you would just a note.
[2009/12/03 16:36] Warin Cascabel: Keep you informed of what, Andress?
[2009/12/03 16:36] Andress Renall: Nevermind..sidetracked.
[2009/12/03 16:36] Sarvana Cherry: Will Teravus always be down on weekends?
[2009/12/03 16:36] EL RODO: will be there any meshes implementation in the near future? i would love to know if meshes are going to be able soon
[2009/12/03 16:36] Sarvana Cherry: I cam go home on weekends. hehe
[2009/12/03 16:36] Adelle Fitzgerald: its never been down on weekends to my knowledge
[2009/12/03 16:36] Sarvana Cherry: can't go home
[2009/12/03 16:36] Sarvana Cherry: I feel like "Dorothy"
[2009/12/03 16:37] Key Gruin: click your heels together
[2009/12/03 16:37] Adelle Fitzgerald: it has been crashing a lot lately, but due to the fact most of us admins work day jobs, when it did crash, it may have been down form some hours
[2009/12/03 16:37] Key Gruin: :)
[2009/12/03 16:37] Adelle Fitzgerald: but like i just said, ive managed to get it to restart automatically from about 80% of crashes
[2009/12/03 16:37] Andress Renall: thats great Adelle, thank you.
[2009/12/03 16:37] Fernando Oliveira: hi
[2009/12/03 16:38] Adelle Fitzgerald: hello
[2009/12/03 16:38] Andress Renall waves at Fernando
[2009/12/03 16:38] Vampir Draken: hi Fernando
[2009/12/03 16:38] Sarvana Cherry: Thank you
[2009/12/03 16:38] Darkeyes Marr: hi ya
[2009/12/03 16:38] Mercalia Beck: hi fernando
[2009/12/03 16:38] Timothy Hoxley: Question, do you think we will ever have an 3rd option for an starter avatar? Like a furry avi.
[2009/12/03 16:38] Sarvana Cherry: Adelle, you have been great...
[2009/12/03 16:38] Warin Cascabel: Yes, Timothy - Orientation Island will have a number of avatars available.
[2009/12/03 16:38] Andress Renall claps
[2009/12/03 16:39] Adelle Fitzgerald: the catch is.... we need you guys to make em :P
[2009/12/03 16:39] Warin Cascabel: But if you want a furry avatar there, we'll need some original content - or verifiably public-domain or permitted ones.
[2009/12/03 16:39] Timothy Hoxley gulps
[2009/12/03 16:39] Ruben Haan: hm
[2009/12/03 16:39] Timothy Hoxley: I will try x3
[2009/12/03 16:39] Warin Cascabel: Well, just start with one. :)
[2009/12/03 16:40] Sarvana Cherry: You asked, Timothy... hehe... go at it... you can do it
[2009/12/03 16:40] Ruben Haan: i dd love to do some sculpting to get a furry
[2009/12/03 16:40] Adelle Fitzgerald: yeah, we are seriously in need of content creators for things like that, so if you can, or know anyone that can make fairly decent quality stuff, we would be very happy to receive that kind of contribution
[2009/12/03 16:40] Andress Renall: Just a note if any of you have not gone by Winterfest, its really beatiful and fun please go, thats Southsea in your map.
[2009/12/03 16:40] Timothy Hoxley sacrastic scared laugh leaves mouth
[2009/12/03 16:40] Warin Cascabel: Yep, the skating in Southsea is quite fun.
[2009/12/03 16:40] Adelle Fitzgerald: i had a quick look there Andress, its very nice, though i couldnt get any skates :(
[2009/12/03 16:41] Andress Renall: Ehh Adelle, when you do its a blast.
[2009/12/03 16:41] Adelle Fitzgerald: its may have just been one of those things at the time
[2009/12/03 16:41] Sarvana Cherry: Great!!!!
[2009/12/03 16:41] Fernando Oliveira: are you talking about start up avatar on registration?
[2009/12/03 16:41] Sarvana Cherry: I love to skate.... can't in RL... hehe
[2009/12/03 16:41] Key Gruin: sam here :)
[2009/12/03 16:41] Key Gruin: same
[2009/12/03 16:41] Sarvana Cherry: heeh
[2009/12/03 16:41] Warin Cascabel: Everyone's ruthed upon startup, Fernando. There are two free avatars in Lbsa, one male, one female.
[2009/12/03 16:42] Andress Renall: Oh which reminds me please can we put a big flashing sign over 'New users Click here' *laughs* I don't know why but I would say 90% miss it.
[2009/12/03 16:42] Arielle Popstar: good point
[2009/12/03 16:43] Sarvana Cherry: I keep switching back to my "ruthie look and clothes". (??)
[2009/12/03 16:43] Adelle Fitzgerald: Andress, that will be taken care of with Orientation Island
[2009/12/03 16:43] Warin Cascabel: Well, I did put a particle stream over it to help draw attention to it, but there's a fountain in the plaza spewing out so many particles that my poor little stream only emits sporadically.
[2009/12/03 16:43] Arielle Popstar: whens that due?
[2009/12/03 16:43] Zardoz Firanelli: Oh and a plaza for tech support, helping people with opensim installs would be good
[2009/12/03 16:43] Andress Renall nods at Adelle.."Its actually quite amusing if I just had a point animation."
[2009/12/03 16:43] Nebadon Izumi: oh
[2009/12/03 16:43] Nebadon Izumi: kill it then Warin
[2009/12/03 16:43] Nebadon Izumi: just erase that fountain
[2009/12/03 16:43] Nebadon Izumi: i dont care
[2009/12/03 16:43] Warin Cascabel: OK.
[2009/12/03 16:43] Key Gruin: I crashed after asking if any events planned for the 3rd anniversary of Opensim, was there anything?
[2009/12/03 16:44] Adelle Fitzgerald: Andress, if you are not in a high priority animation, if you simply right click the sign and goto edit, you will point at it
[2009/12/03 16:44] Nebadon Izumi: yes Key we were discussing it earlier
[2009/12/03 16:44] Nebadon Izumi: recommending people start thinking about planning events
[2009/12/03 16:44] Andress Renall: Oh thanks Adelle..
[2009/12/03 16:44] Warin Cascabel: Yes, Key, we decided you'll be jumping out of a cake at the party.
[2009/12/03 16:44] Andress Renall: Woot!
[2009/12/03 16:44] Nebadon Izumi: we will put more detail on teh wesbite as we get closer
[2009/12/03 16:44] Nebadon Izumi: but anyone has any ideas let us know
[2009/12/03 16:44] Warin Cascabel: That's planned for in OI, Zardoz.
[2009/12/03 16:44] Nebadon Izumi: or if you want to host your own party
[2009/12/03 16:44] Key Gruin: OK good :)
[2009/12/03 16:44] Nebadon Izumi: just start planning it out
[2009/12/03 16:45] Key Gruin: need material for the newspaper
[2009/12/03 16:45] Nebadon Izumi: we'll likely have you tag postings on the website with a certain word that will allow us to show just party events
[2009/12/03 16:45] Nebadon Izumi: some kind of keyword or something
[2009/12/03 16:45] Andress Renall: I have something for you Key Ill connect with you after the meeting.
[2009/12/03 16:45] Warin Cascabel: What kind of material are you looking for, Key?
[2009/12/03 16:45] Key Gruin: k Andress :)
[2009/12/03 16:45] Sarvana Cherry: I with my neighbor would like to have a House Warming Party.
[2009/12/03 16:45] Timothy Hoxley: back sorry crashed
[2009/12/03 16:45] Adelle Fitzgerald: wb
[2009/12/03 16:46] Adelle Fitzgerald: ahh, whilst I remember.... OSgrid greeters....
[2009/12/03 16:46] Key Gruin: Warin, anything but I was refering to the 3rd anniversary specifically
[2009/12/03 16:46] Timothy Hoxley: ty
[2009/12/03 16:46] Timothy Hoxley: ?
[2009/12/03 16:46] Adelle Fitzgerald: the greeters group has changed slightly...
[2009/12/03 16:46] Timothy Hoxley: how so?
[2009/12/03 16:46] Adelle Fitzgerald: it used to be completely open for enrollment but now it is closed
[2009/12/03 16:46] Adelle Fitzgerald: Tim, this doesnt apply to you
[2009/12/03 16:46] Timothy Hoxley: oh x3
[2009/12/03 16:47] EL RODO: well. gotta run guys... poker night. nice 2cu all. have a great night!
[2009/12/03 16:47] Timothy Hoxley: I helped 3 furries in the other day x3!
[2009/12/03 16:47] Adelle Fitzgerald: there are some conditions that people wanting to eb greeters must meet now, as in the past we have had every tom, dick and harry join up to have an OSgird tag
[2009/12/03 16:47] Kazzy Lumiere: yeah, that makes sense
[2009/12/03 16:47] Warin Cascabel: So... that was nine furries, Timothy? :)
[2009/12/03 16:47] Timothy Hoxley: So we will start having meetings?
[2009/12/03 16:47] Adelle Fitzgerald: the basics are that a resident muct be at least 3 months old in this grid, and subject to a small interview
[2009/12/03 16:48] Timothy Hoxley: I think so
[2009/12/03 16:48] Andress Renall nods to Key making a note.
[2009/12/03 16:48] Timothy Hoxley: I loose count helping people so much x3
[2009/12/03 16:48] Arielle Popstar: sounds like a lot
[2009/12/03 16:49] Sarvana Cherry: Timothy has been doing a great job at it...
[2009/12/03 16:49] Timothy Hoxley: ty
[2009/12/03 16:49] Andress Renall: Yes he has.
[2009/12/03 16:49] Adelle Fitzgerald: the interview is to make sure that candidates are suitably knowledgeable with regard to OSgrid itself.. things like no economy, where the freebie places are, the level od the candidates knowlede with opensim etc
[2009/12/03 16:50] Adelle Fitzgerald: bleh, chat lag
[2009/12/03 16:50] Key Gruin: shoot all the FAQs at them, that will be the test
[2009/12/03 16:50] Arielle Popstar: and it falls on whoever is there
[2009/12/03 16:50] Andress Renall: I come in and help as often as I can as well but..got to get that region done :)
[2009/12/03 16:50] Arielle Popstar: or you prefer them to be directed at the official greeters
[2009/12/03 16:50] Adelle Fitzgerald: its not about particular FAQ's its about being able to cope as a greeter, key
[2009/12/03 16:50] Adelle Fitzgerald: also, anyone looking at members in the greeters group will notice it has been cut right down too
[2009/12/03 16:51] Arielle Popstar: just thinking of the times when there ar no greeters aroundf
[2009/12/03 16:51] Warin Cascabel: Have a look 'round Orientation Island, Arielle. It's designed to take into account times when there are no greeters there for newbies. (Not all the info displays are written yet, but you can get a good idea of what will be there)
[2009/12/03 16:51] Arielle Popstar: when they are available
[2009/12/03 16:51] Arielle Popstar: whjen is OI expected to be functional?
[2009/12/03 16:51] Timothy Hoxley: alright no longer using Rainbow
[2009/12/03 16:51] Warin Cascabel: When it's finished.
[2009/12/03 16:52] Arielle Popstar: so in the meantime...
[2009/12/03 16:52] Warin Cascabel: Sorry I can't be more specific, but having a day job really cuts into my time to work on it. :)
[2009/12/03 16:52] Arielle Popstar: understood
[2009/12/03 16:52] Adelle Fitzgerald: and to finish up on the greeters, Timothy Hoxley is our latest addition tot he greeters group :)
[2009/12/03 16:52] Adelle Fitzgerald points at the fox over there
[2009/12/03 16:52] Adelle Fitzgerald: hehe
[2009/12/03 16:52] Andress Renall: Go Tim :)
[2009/12/03 16:52] Timothy Hoxley: And I have been working on notecards for small things
[2009/12/03 16:52] Timothy Hoxley: like groups and stuff
[2009/12/03 16:53] Sarvana Cherry: good idea
[2009/12/03 16:53] Mercalia Beck: is Nymf still around?
[2009/12/03 16:54] Adelle Fitzgerald: i dont think so
[2009/12/03 16:54] Mercalia Beck: oh
[2009/12/03 16:54] Adelle Fitzgerald: i think she left for another grid, for unknown reasons
[2009/12/03 16:54] Adelle Fitzgerald: but that is about all i know
[2009/12/03 16:54] Key Gruin: mmm
[2009/12/03 16:54] Mercalia Beck: ok
[2009/12/03 16:55] Adelle Fitzgerald: i did notice Quaezar was online yesterday(?)
[2009/12/03 16:55] Adelle Fitzgerald: so im not sure if she has left or, just not logging in as much
[2009/12/03 16:55] Warin Cascabel: She did log in five days ago.
[2009/12/03 16:56] Andress Renall: Also just as a good note, I have been told we have gotten 3 really good creators coming over to OSGrid.
[2009/12/03 16:56] Warin Cascabel: Excellent.
[2009/12/03 16:56] Andress Renall: Through Christy Lock
[2009/12/03 16:56] Kazzy Lumiere: nice
[2009/12/03 16:56] Sarvana Cherry: Two others just came in
[2009/12/03 16:56] Kazzy Lumiere has not heard of Christy Lock
[2009/12/03 16:57] Arielle Popstar: what exactly happened with Shiranda....did that disappear because of grid issues?
[2009/12/03 16:57] Andress Renall: Christy is behind Winterfest
[2009/12/03 16:57] Kazzy Lumiere: cool
[2009/12/03 16:58] Adelle Fitzgerald: people come and go here, they always have and probably for a fair while, always will
[2009/12/03 16:58] Adelle Fitzgerald: OSgird and OpenSim arent for everyone
[2009/12/03 16:58] Fernando Oliveira: about info displays, they could be done thinking on multi-language
[2009/12/03 16:58] Kazzy Lumiere: People still come and go from SL
[2009/12/03 16:58] Kazzy Lumiere: So I think they probably always will here too
[2009/12/03 16:58] Adelle Fitzgerald: you need a lot of patience for OSgrid as it stands atm
[2009/12/03 16:58] Timothy Hoxley: Just the other day I official left SL for here
[2009/12/03 16:58] Mercalia Beck: some of the strange behavious of stuff is frustrating
[2009/12/03 16:58] Adelle Fitzgerald: and it will take time before it gets to the point where things are reliable
[2009/12/03 16:59] Warin Cascabel: The displays will be multi-language, Fernando. We already have people translating them into German and Dutch. Translators for more languages would be greatly appreciated. :)
[2009/12/03 16:59] Andress Renall: Yes it does get frustrating but its still kinda a baby m'thinks :)
[2009/12/03 16:59] Adelle Fitzgerald: i see that as a challenge myself :)
[2009/12/03 16:59] Fernando Oliveira: I can do Portuguese
[2009/12/03 16:59] Key Gruin: official,Timothy?
[2009/12/03 16:59] Warin Cascabel: Excellent, thanks.
[2009/12/03 17:00] Sarvana Cherry: Is anyone here in the SL "OSGrid Support" Group?
[2009/12/03 17:00] Timothy Hoxley: Yes, I used to do a lot on SL but I told all my SL contacts I was moving here
[2009/12/03 17:00] Sarvana Cherry: Invite them here
[2009/12/03 17:00] Adelle Fitzgerald: what group is that, Sarvana?
[2009/12/03 17:00] Timothy Hoxley: I have been
[2009/12/03 17:00] Sarvana Cherry: hehe that is what i hav ebeeen doing
[2009/12/03 17:00] Timothy Hoxley: some have come
[2009/12/03 17:00] Adelle Fitzgerald: i dont think its an official Group
[2009/12/03 17:00] Timothy Hoxley: others refuse do to the lack of furries
[2009/12/03 17:00] Adelle Fitzgerald: ahh
[2009/12/03 17:00] Timothy Hoxley: x(
[2009/12/03 17:01] Andress Renall: Oh just a note I asked about it but there is a group called OSGrid Builders Group are they just independents?
[2009/12/03 17:01] Sarvana Cherry: "OSGrid Support" I think is what it is called... I search "OSGrid"
[2009/12/03 17:01] Adelle Fitzgerald: its still very early days for OSgrid yet
[2009/12/03 17:01] Fernando Oliveira: yesterday I helped a guy who dont speak even english... only portuguese. he told me "thanks god you talk portuguese" :)_
[2009/12/03 17:01] Warin Cascabel: Heh :)
[2009/12/03 17:01] Adelle Fitzgerald whispers: ok, we have about 10 minutes left, so I wanna hear your good stuff from the past week ;)
[2009/12/03 17:01] Key Gruin: it's good that Osgrid is such a global community
[2009/12/03 17:02] Andress Renall: Most of us get along really well.
[2009/12/03 17:02] Adelle Fitzgerald: Myself, Nebadon and Hiro have been working on vehicles
[2009/12/03 17:02] Mercalia Beck: well i like the walk in tps
[2009/12/03 17:02] Key Gruin: I have a short updat on teh newspaper
[2009/12/03 17:02] Adelle Fitzgerald: its still got some way to go, but we are making probress getting vehicles to run well here
[2009/12/03 17:02] Kazzy Lumiere: attachments support feels like it has really improved
[2009/12/03 17:02] Key Gruin: awesome :)
[2009/12/03 17:02] Fernando Oliveira: I think of the most important is "most people here are coool !"
[2009/12/03 17:02] Melanie Audette: wow, i finally found people
[2009/12/03 17:02] Melanie Audette: lol
