[14:08] Hiro Protagonist: Korgi Silvercloud, a question for you: are you wearing a child avatar

[14:08] Korgi Silvercloud: yes, however the town meetings are open to all avatars as it is a discussion of all grid matters, i was confirmed that all are welcome at town hall meetings

[14:08] Adelle Fitzgerald: hey Dirk

[14:08] Koni Lanzius entered the region (141.95 m).

[14:08] Dirk Mathers: hello

[14:09] Talla Slade: hi Dorothea and Samira

[14:09] Samira Samtanko: hello

[14:09] Hiro Protagonist: I'll set the policy on who is welcome and who is not thatnk you

[14:09] Dorothea Lundquist: good evening all :)

[14:09] George Equus: Hi Doro

[14:09] Kahn Khalim: your welcome

[14:09] Kahn Khalim: and here we go again

[14:09] Hiro Protagonist: quiet please

[14:09] Amy Storm: Hi, Dorothea, :)

[14:09] Koni Lanzius left the region.

[14:09] Hiro Protagonist: first, thank you all for coming.

[14:10] Marc User left the region.

[14:10] Marc User entered the region (141.98 m).

[14:10] Hiro Protagonist: There are some items on the agenda, I'll be covering them in order.

[14:11] Hiro Protagonist: There will be no comments or Q&A today, I just walked in the door from aa very unpleasant road trip.

[14:11] Hiro Protagonist: 5 hours of driveing werent the worst of it by far.

[14:11] Hiro Protagonist: Today I will be distributing two ploicies.

[14:12] Hiro Protagonist: These policies are proposals.

[14:12] Master Dubrovna entered the region (141.95 m).

[14:12] Catharina Jacobus is offline.

[14:12] Hiro Protagonist: It is my desire that you carry them away, share tem with others, review and forward any comments or concerns to me in a notecard

[14:12] Hiro Protagonist: We hope to settle on some firm variation of them after next week.

[14:13] Cuteulala Artis is online.

[14:14] Hiro Protagonist: There have been some concerns that with the new changes we have made and continue to implement with respect to the greeting group. Essentially, I've hijacked that group, put it iin the hands of a capable and expereinced customer service person (Amy Storm), and turned that into a rther professional operation. It's yielding great results in terms of new user retention.

[14:14] Korgi Silvercloud left the region.

[14:14] Boxster Karu is offline.

[14:14] Hiro Protagonist: That said, we realize that this has probably stepped on a few toes, and I wish to clarify position on that.

[14:15] Hiro Protagonist: What we've taken to ourselves as a professional responsibilty is actually the handling of new users. We simply want to give them a swift, efficient hand in getting themselves outfitted and ready for life on the grid.

[14:15] Hiro Protagonist: We really dont wish to dissuade anyone from being friendly, saying hello, etc

[14:16] Hiro Protagonist: or even helping each other, actually

[14:16] Hiro Protagonist: thats one of the great things about our grid -- we all help each other.

[14:16] Hiro Protagonist: So one of the position pieces we have for you today clarifies that new change, and establishes policy in that regard.

[14:17] Hiro Protagonist: We'll be getting that out to you in a group notice shortly, I believe. There is nothing terribly heinous about it, afaict.

[14:18] Shelenn Ayres left the region.

[14:18] Fearghus McMahon: sorry i know not taking questions...but which group i join for that?

[14:18] Shelenn Ayres entered the region (141.95 m).

[14:18] Hiro Protagonist: The townhall meeting group)

[14:18] Sally Florin left the region.

[14:18] Hiro Protagonist: someone please extend Fearghus an invite :)

[14:18] Fearghus McMahon: thanks :)

[14:19] Truelie Ellen: invite me too, please

[14:19] Hiro Protagonist whispers: There is no more single devisive issue on the grid than the presence of child avatars.

[14:19] Hiro Protagonist whispers: There is no more single devisive issue on the grid than the presence of child avatars.

[14:19] stiofain nbmcmedia: me too

[14:19] Hiro Protagonist: There is no more single devisive issue on the grid than the presence of child avatars.

[14:19] Hiro Protagonist: sorry, fat fingers

[14:19] Sally Florin entered the region (141.95 m).

[14:19] Hiro Protagonist: In spite of the noise and level of drama, I have paid attention to the views of all of you.

[14:19] Meg Amp: INVITE PLEASE

[14:19] Hiro Protagonist: Do I agree with all positions? no.

[14:20] Meg Amp: sorry caps

[14:20] Hiro Protagonist: Do I appreciate the drama? absolutely not.

[14:20] Key Gruin: There is a group joiner prim here

[14:20] dan banner: cant join or open groups here

[14:20] Key Gruin: oh

[14:20] dan banner: send me a Im afterwards

[14:20] Hiro Protagonist: That said, there are sufficient numbers of you out there who have approached me and discussed this issue calmly and reasonably and we have come to some positions I think that, most of us at least, will be comfortable with.

[14:20] dan banner: if you cant find it

[14:20] Hiro Protagonist: akkk sorry I forgot about that

[14:21] Hiro Protagonist: we had to close down groups for stability reasons.

[14:21] Dorothea Lundquist: groups off probably

[14:21] Hiro Protagonist: please, let me do the talking.

[14:21] Dorothea Lundquist: yes sir :)

[14:21] Hiro Protagonist: Thank you.

[14:22] Hiro Protagonist: The last thing I will talk about today is the new LBSA Plaza build.

[14:22] Hiro Protagonist: Some of you may have seen the new builod taking place on my studio region, Tempest.

[14:23] Lucy Afarensis is online.

[14:23] Hiro Protagonist: It is a complete departure from the current build -- it is literally desinged as a place to meet with friends and break off into what we used to call 'breakout sessions' in the corporate world.

[14:24] Hiro Protagonist: these sessions are so called because they allow small groups to 'break out' and have their own little meetings or gatherings.

[14:24] Lucy Afarensis entered the region (141.96 m).

[14:24] Nebadon Izumi: isnt the point of Lbsa plaza to be a place for everyone to be together in one spot?

[14:25] Hiro Protagonist: finally, to wrap up, this build comes into play with another new item; that is, we will be opening the Welcome Station as the default landing zone.

[14:25] Hiro Protagonist: Here's how that will work

[14:25] Hiro Protagonist: any user who does not specify a destination at login will arrive there. Shortly after, if the users is not a 'newb', the user will then be teleported to one of the plazas at random.

[14:25] Hiro Protagonist: a 'newb' will be dfined as anyone less than 30 days old.

[14:26] Hiro Protagonist: The exception of course, being officially sponsored greeters.

[14:27] Hiro Protagonist: in closing, I'd like to point out that OSgrid is a community made up of many communities that have different ways of living here but common goals. I appreciate your coming. Please get me notecard feedback regarding the proposed policies and items for next week's meeting.

[14:27] Hiro Protagonist: Thanks and I'll see you right here next week.

[14:27] Hiro Protagonist waves

[14:27] Hiro Protagonist left the region.

[14:27] Michael Skelito: hmmm

[14:27] Marc User: hu

[14:28] Wordfromthe Wise: bad hair day ?

[14:28] Michael Skelito: what Neb said

[14:28] Jeeper Shim: wow

[14:28] Jalen Optera: Hiro has a family emergency

[14:28] Adelle Fitzgerald: wasnt as entertaining as last week :(

[14:28] Michael Skelito: what Neb said

[14:28] Adelle Fitzgerald: put your answers on a postcard!

[14:28] Adelle Fitzgerald: umm notecard

[14:29] Talla Slade: well, that was short and sweet. I will get away then. Bye all

[14:29] Dorothea Lundquist: first i need to figure out what exactly he was talking about, sorry I am english

[14:29] Dorothea Lundquist: not english pfff

[14:29] Lucy Afarensis: I guess I will read the log later

[14:29] Kahn Khalim: yeah, a bit late lucy.. :/

[14:29] Talla Slade left the region.

[14:29] Michael Skelito: why do I feel we are in shock?

[14:30] Adelle Fitzgerald: not shock per se, im more stunned

[14:30] Jake Feden: I feel like i am being taken over by a military general

[14:30] Nebadon Izumi: well like Jalen said Hiro has family emergency he had to attend to

[14:30] Wordfromthe Wise: yes sir °

[14:30] Jeeper Shim: agreed.. stunned

[14:30] Phil Dudek left the region.

[14:30] Nebadon Izumi: thats why he was in and out so fast today

[14:30] DarkShadowPrincess Huntress entered the region (142.53 m).

[14:30] Allen Kerensky: that's the smell of "meeting facilitation"

[14:30] Dorothea Lundquist: oke :) we need to consider that yes

[14:30] Michael Skelito: new LSBA sounds wrong

[14:31] albertlr Landar: Well if I may, the organization of the Board is proceeding.

[14:31] Amy Storm: Michael, talk to him.

[14:31] George Equus: corporate slant to it all...

[14:31] Michael Skelito: I want to see it first

[14:31] Adelle Fitzgerald: thats good to hear, albertir

[14:31] Dante Tucker is offline.

[14:31] Jeeper Shim: yeah. breaking up lbsa so you can go into little private groups is bad

[14:31] dan banner: its in tempest

[14:31] Dorothea Lundquist: good news :)

[14:31] Jeeper Shim: imho

[14:31] Jake Feden: I agree. LBSA has been a place to meet others in one central location

[14:31] albertlr Landar: There will be a formal organization to everything.

[14:31] Nebadon Izumi: ya we'll talk more about Lbsa Plaza

[14:31] Shelann Morane: Come on people OSG is a gift! if we don't suppoert it We loose it!

[14:31] albertlr Landar: I can promise that I will see to that.

[14:32] Zia Frimon is offline.

[14:32] Dorothea Lundquist: sorry perhaps I misunderstood... you need to type exactly youre region when you logg in?....

[14:32] dan banner: great albert :)

[14:32] DarkShadowPrincess Huntress left the region.

[14:32] Zia Frimon is online.

[14:32] albertlr Landar: And I do think despite what you ahve heard that everyone will have an imput to things.

[14:32] Adelle Fitzgerald: no Doro, it wont affect you, or others that have home positions set

[14:32] Amy Storm: dorothea, no, last location and home still work

[14:32] dan banner: doro: if you dont have a home or last location set you would end up in the default region which will be the welcome station

[14:32] Dorothea Lundquist: ah oke :)

[14:33] albertlr Landar: It takes take to set all this up, and someone has to have the responsibility in the mean time.

[14:33] Adelle Fitzgerald: only newbies that have no home position, until they are 30 days old

[14:33] Amy Storm: it's for new people

[14:33] DarkShadowPrincess Huntress entered the region (142.49 m).

[14:33] Fearghus McMahon: Did I understood correct though....Avatars older then 30 days will be automatically tp-ed out of the welcome area unless they are official greeters?

[14:33] Dorothea Lundquist: oke :) than I understand :)

[14:33] dan banner: yes feargus

[14:33] Adelle Fitzgerald: that actually makes sense to me, gives newbies a 'safe house' as such

[14:33] Jake Feden: I believe that is correct feargus

[14:33] Adelle Fitzgerald: until they are used to things

[14:34] dan banner: yes adelle

[14:34] Kahn Khalim: going to be a very lonely place for greeters :/

[14:34] Fearghus McMahon: so it is sort of a quarantine? ;)

[14:34] Nebadon Izumi: well the plan for the greeters is

[14:34] Amy Storm left the region.

[14:34] Nebadon Izumi: there will be a radar unit there that will inform the greeters when a new person has arived

[14:34] Key Gruin: greeters don't have to be there all the time

[14:35] Fearghus McMahon: please tell me there will not be a bot at the welcome area though?

[14:35] dan banner: makes sense

[14:35] Adelle Fitzgerald: Fearghus, its just one region, the welcome station that avatars over 30 days old cant go

[14:35] Nebadon Izumi: there may be some bots at some point

[14:35] Nebadon Izumi: NPCs

[14:35] Nebadon Izumi: but not primarily no

[14:35] Kahn Khalim: thats a good plan neb

[14:35] Adelle Fitzgerald: so ya, Lbsa, I cant see that working...

[14:35] Fearghus McMahon: oh i'm not gonna make a fuss over it....I can see the reasoning behind it...but considering how quiet LBSA can be at times...

[14:36] mattie mcbride entered the region (13.93 m).

[14:36] Adelle Fitzgerald: even without looking at the model, split up groups is kinda cliquey

[14:36] Nebadon Izumi: ya

[14:36] Jeeper Shim: yeah

[14:36] Nebadon Izumi: we'll talk more about it

[14:36] Adelle Fitzgerald: the one good thing about Lbsa is that everyone is out in the open

[14:36] albertlr Landar: and that is the point to get feed back on all this.

[14:36] dan banner: and basically contained within chat range

[14:37] Allen Kerensky: Adelle one example of the breakout idea is when 2-3 people are working on a specific technical question and the rest of the plaza complains

[14:37] Key Gruin: I like the breakout idea kinda

[14:37] Adelle Fitzgerald: so, is there a communal area sorta in the middle?

[14:37] Allen Kerensky: the breakout area is where they could thrash the one technical issue without overruning the rest of the room

[14:37] Adelle Fitzgerald: i havent seen the model so I dont know

[14:37] DarkShadowPrincess Huntress left the region.

[14:37] Sally Florin: wait until you have more information before commenting; at least inspect the new areas, and see how it pans out perhaps... i think you'll find that people will gravitate.

[14:37] Allen Kerensky: usually in those sorts of meeting centers there is a communal area where you meet up before heading to a breakout area if you want

[14:38] Amy Storm is offline.

[14:38] Allen Kerensky: I haven't looked at Hiro's test build in Tempest - but I've seen too many of those areas in RL

[14:38] Allen Kerensky: they usually have the coffee bar and whatnot as a large open area - with small meeting areas a bit away

[14:38] DarkShadowPrincess Huntress entered the region (142.36 m).

[14:39] Adelle Fitzgerald: yeah ive seen those irl, i just dont understand how that will benefit here though

[14:39] Michael Skelito: So right now LBSA breakout is IM's...like that you mean?

[14:39] Adelle Fitzgerald: people can break away to other regions

[14:39] Adelle Fitzgerald: or wnatever

[14:39] Allen Kerensky: basically yes

[14:39] Adelle Fitzgerald: dont get me wrong, im not knocking it, just trying to clarify what it is

[14:39] Kahn Khalim: the new welcome center is a good idea, and we'll see about the group areas.. not much info in this meeting, but short and sweet.. off to superbowl!! Take care all!

[14:39] Allen Kerensky: well there are people in Lbsa who want help, but get frustrated by the random chat going on

[14:39] Michael Skelito: byes Kahn

[14:40] Dorothea Lundquist: bye bye Kahn :)

[14:40] Allen Kerensky: those people would benefit from a breakout area for individual help without the distraction

[14:40] Amy Storm is online.

[14:40] Fearghus McMahon: ah ok...that actually makes sense indeed Allen

[14:40] Adelle Fitzgerald: right, that i can understand

[14:40] Master Dubrovna waves and poofs

[14:40] Kahn Khalim left the region.

[14:40] Master Dubrovna left the region.

[14:40] Allen Kerensky: I've been yelled at by people for not helping them in Lbsa when I and others were chatting about something else and they blew in looking for instant gratification
