[11:04] Snoots Dwagon wing waves at Danger
 [11:04] Jupiter Rowland: Hi Foxx!
[11:05] Robin Sandalwood: Hi Foxx, you got that thing lit yet?
[11:05] Foxx Bode: Now i could poop out some boring AI created motivational speech, thank donators, residents, yadayada... but lets do something different.
 [11:05] Danger Lytton: ok
 [11:05] sharann cousine: haahaa
 [11:05] Caro Fayray: :)
 [11:05] Danger Lytton: do it
[11:05] Foxx Bode: You're probably more interested what we have been doing over the past year, so since i get to write minutes i made a small overview with last years highlights.
 [11:05] Caro Fayray: go foxx
 [11:06] Foxx Bode: here goes.
[11:06] Foxx Bode: We migrated the hosted wordpress blog to a different server for the new blog, osgrid.online.
[11:06] Neovo Geesink: I am all ears...
[11:06] Foxx Bode: We added domains osgrid.nl and osgrid.fr to DNS. (These domains are all privately funded by admins, so do not eat into osgrids budget).
[11:06] Foxx Bode: We replaced OSgrids main server Zeus. it was upgraded to it's Epyc replacement and terminated.
[11:06] Foxx Bode: We updated and rearranged / face lifted LBSA Plaza.
[11:06] Foxx Bode: Paela Argus was invited to the OSgrid board.
[11:06] Foxx Bode: Some Ini files changed, Mutelist was added, OSSL structure was slightly modified. Migrated to .NET 8 with Y-engine.
[11:06] Foxx Bode: The OSgrid event team did their annual magic with some really very neat builds for the various events last year.
[11:06] Foxx Bode: OSgrids 17th birthday passed, and we had a successful fund-raiser which is really a blessing for our financials.
[11:06] Snoots Dwagon: Ohhh I need to visit LBSA
[11:06] Foxx Bode: Incoming donations slightly decreased, so to cut in returning costs, one plaza server was terminated, and its regions backed up / moved.
[11:07] Foxx Bode: Back-end team found a discrepancy between the asset clusters size and our reported diskspace.
[11:07] Foxx Bode: A test environment outside OSG is being worked on, for the next website-backend upgrades.
[11:07] Foxx Bode: Nobody in the board resigned. and we have no applicants or recommendations for other members, so current staffing remains active, roles yet to be determined.
[11:07] Foxx Bode: Event Plaza team has a Talent contest planned for new singers / artists.
 [11:07] sharann cousine: yay
[11:07] Foxx Bode: This in a nutshell is what passes along in our Board meetings, of which summaries can be found on the wiki.
 [11:07] sharann cousine: oops
[11:07] Foxx Bode: Hope i didn't bore you with this epistle, it at least kept us off the streets.
[11:08] Foxx Bode: Oh and Eat that Gemini. :)
[11:08] Snoots Dwagon: Question: where do we find notice of OSG events?
 [11:08] Caro Fayray: ty foxx
 [11:08] sharann cousine: oswebsite
[11:08] Snoots Dwagon: Like the Talent Show
 [11:08] Snoots Dwagon: Okay tyty
[11:09] Neovo Geesink: And, as soon I got dates and places, I put them in the Events Teleporters which are on Key Plaza's.
 [11:09] Paela Argus: Snoots =>>>> https://osgrid.org/calendar.php
[11:09] Foxx Bode: Up Next Dan will tell you a bit more on the backend work
 [11:09] Danger Lytton: ty foxx
 [11:09] sharann cousine: ty foxx
 [11:09] Em Jannings: applause
 [11:09] Snoots Dwagon: Tyvm Paela
[11:10] Paela Argus: clap clap clap
 [11:10] Snoots Dwagon: /appa
 [11:10] sharann cousine: claps
[11:10] Danger Lytton: hola jefe dan
 [11:10] Snoots Dwagon: ~*~* Appaws!! Appaws!! ~*~
[11:10] dan banner: good afternoon/evening everyone
 [11:10] cilla teebrook: waves
[11:10] dan banner: quick update on maintenance progress
[11:11] dan banner: as most are aware, we have some important maintenance running in the background
 [11:11] sharann cousine: nods
[11:12] dan banner: the reason its running in the background is the process takes time and while it might be slightly disruptive its better than closing the grid for 4 months
 [11:12] Hazumi Kaze: (very true)
 [11:12] sharann cousine: blinks
[11:12] dan banner: so we appreciate your patience and understanding
[11:12] sharann cousine: maintenance takes 4 months?
[11:13] albertlr Landar: The assets for Osgrid are huge
[11:13] Em Jannings: and we appreciate the work being done
[11:13] sharann cousine: they are being transferred to another server?
[11:13] Caro Fayray: absolutely we do
[11:13] dan banner: currently, the first part is about 20% complete
[11:13] dan banner: so we're making progress
 [11:13] sharann cousine: oh
 [11:14] Arielle Popstar: first part?
[11:14] Arielle Popstar: there are multiple parts?
 [11:14] Lucia Fernanda: 20% 's a good number =)
 [11:15] sharann cousine: smiles
[11:15] Hazumi Kaze: ( so no delete things from inventries ) ?
 [11:15] Snoots Dwagon: right
[11:16] Snoots Dwagon: Do not delete "missing" items from inventory. ;D
[11:16] Caro Fayray: some return gradually ive found
[11:16] dan banner: I'd like to reiterate that missing textures, etc are only temporary and will be added back as the second half of this maintenance process
 [11:16] sharann cousine: nods
 [11:16] Hazumi Kaze: TY Dan
 [11:16] Jeremy Jewell: phew
 [11:16] sharann cousine: grins
[11:16] Arielle Popstar: textures are considered assets?
[11:16] dan banner: yes everything is an asset
[11:16] Caro Fayray: everything in inventories is
[11:16] Danger Lytton: everything is an asset
 [11:16] Danger Lytton: even landmarks
 [11:17] cilla teebrook: lol
 [11:17] Em Jannings: unless it's a liability
[11:17] Paela Argus: my brain is a asset too XD
[11:17] dan banner: baked textures are not
[11:17] Hazumi Kaze: (my BF is an asset  ;-) )
 [11:17] sharann cousine: haahaa
 [11:17] Jeremy Jewell: lol
[11:17] Danger Lytton: no - he is a liability
 [11:17] Danger Lytton: lol
 [11:17] Hazumi Kaze: lol
 [11:17] Nicolas Hel: lolol
 [11:17] Snoots Dwagon: GASSHP! I'm... I'm just a .... pixellated asset???!!!
[11:18] Arielle Popstar: so what exactly is the problem?
[11:18] dan banner: i also recommend do not clear region caches until this is complete
 [11:18] MillyAnn Morgana: hmm
[11:18] sharann cousine: but ok to clear our browser cache's from time to time?
[11:18] sharann cousine: viewer cahce not inventory
[11:18] tiivi tuuli: How bout the meshes?
[11:18] Lucia Fernanda: I have had texture drops that have been fixed by simply restarting the viewer 😊
[11:18] Caro Fayray: im clearing nothing
[11:19] dan banner: arielle: a discrepancy in the structure of one the pools which needs to be deleted once empty
[11:19] Caro Fayray: put bad assets in seperate folder so u can check
[11:19] tiivi tuuli: i have few broken
[11:19] dan banner: then we will add them back to the new pool
[11:19] sharann cousine: ah good idea cara
[11:19] Arielle Popstar: is this specific to Osgrid??
 [11:19] tiivi tuuli: :))
[11:20] Arielle Popstar: or just a problem because Osgrid has so many?
[11:20] sharann cousine: yes is an aog issue
[11:20] dan banner: yes, was an issue migrated from the old cluster
 [11:20] sharann cousine: osg
[11:20] Caro Fayray: A question..probably for ubit who isnt here
[11:20] Caro Fayray: could it be possible to set a limit on inventories?....to try to stop assets getting out of control...like inventories stop accepting after a certain number?...im not a techie so apologise if it's a silly idea:)
[11:20] Snoots Dwagon: /mw was wondering wot aog was. :D
[11:20] Lucia Fernanda: during this process, the less we stir, better... 😋
[11:20] Misterblue Waves: large scale databases can be tricky to configure and run
[11:20] Arielle Popstar: he seems think it isnt his issue
[11:20] Arielle Popstar: to deal with
[11:21] Paela Argus: peoples jsut make a other account if we limit number of objets etc in inventory
[11:21] Snoots Dwagon: I kinda leaving my lands totally untouched until migration is done
[11:21] dan banner: arielle: the asset cluster doesnt even use opensimulator codebase
 [11:21] Arielle Popstar: ok
[11:21] sharann cousine: or how about deleting really old accts not used 7+ years say
[11:21] dan banner: so its nothing to do with opensimulator
[11:21] Arielle Popstar: pk Dan thx
[11:21] Arielle Popstar: good to know
 [11:22] Arielle Popstar: pk=ok
[11:22] dan banner: anyway, thats all for now i believe albert has a few things to update,
 [11:22] Em Jannings: thanks dan
 [11:22] sharann cousine: ty dan
[11:22] Snoots Dwagon knows what pk means. Slowly pulls out my blaster... ;D
 [11:22] dan banner: yw
 [11:22] Caro Fayray: ty dan
 [11:22] Danger Lytton: ty dan
[11:22] albertlr Landar: Thank you everyone who has come to this meeting today. Your support of OSgrid with subscriptions and your presence here is what keeps us going.
 [11:22] Neovo Geesink: :-)
[11:22] Lucia Fernanda: "storage boxes" can be used if you have roo many
 [11:22] sharann cousine: welcome albert
[11:22] albertlr Landar: Despite the disruption of having to backup our OSgrid Assets, you have continued to support OSgrid and its operation and this is critical to our continuing operations.
[11:23] albertlr Landar: For several months now our subscriptions and donations have fallen short of covering our monthly expenses.
[11:23] albertlr Landar: I am pleased to say however that it improved last month in November despite our having to take the Grid off line for Maintenance.
 [11:23] sharann cousine: smiles
[11:23] albertlr Landar: For the month of November we actually had a surplus $14.88. Which is not a lot but its at least positive for a change. The majority of our subscribers subscribe that at $5 month.
[11:24] albertlr Landar: f we can get at lease 25 of them to increase that amount by $5 more a month to $10, then going forward we should be in very good shape again.
[11:24] albertlr Landar: You would spend more getting a cup of coffee today. So please during the season of giving consider helping OSgrid to keep growing.
[11:24] albertlr Landar: Now our total funds in our bank account are $7,059.46. This is made up of $1,000.08 in our checking account, and $6,059.38 in our Money Market Savings account.
 [11:24] dan banner: starbucks == $9 ;p
[11:25] albertlr Landar: Of the total in our Savings $59.38 is accrued interest. The Board had approved setting up a Interest bearing savings account this past year. Not a lot but hopefully it will increase in the future.
[11:25] Snoots Dwagon: We should start a $5 a month drive. make people aware how much that would help
 [11:25] Caro Fayray: yes
 [11:25] Snoots Dwagon: $5 is a cuppa
[11:25] albertlr Landar: Currently our balance in PayPal is $4,442.03 at the beginning of December 2024. Thats gives a grand total of all sources of $11,500.49.
[11:25] Paela Argus: i have less on my personal account ;( lol
[11:25] sharann cousine: yes snoot, good idea
[11:25] albertlr Landar: That represents a decrease in our accounts from last year, as 2023 was $12,253 and this year 2024 was $11,500. So a decrease of $753.
[11:26] Snoots Dwagon: How much does it cost per month tu run OSG?
[11:26] albertlr Landar: The decrease was from a reduction in our subscriptions during the year, and we hope with your support to improve that going into 2025.
[11:26] albertlr Landar: Now about our fundraiser, we once more exceeded our goal of $2,000 with your support of donations and the auctions. Our final total was $2,111 which was $633 less than last years total.
[11:26] albertlr Landar: However included in that total is $237 which was donated in lindens over on Second Life. That was an increase of $84, so thanks again to all donated their lindens to OSgrid.
[11:27] Snoots Dwagon: $5 a month is very reasonable
[11:27] Hazumi Kaze: ( soory so we pay at loging in ??? since osg seems to be a no currance grid ? )
[11:27] sharann cousine: $5 a month givers get a t shirt that says I give $5 to keep osg alive
 [11:27] Arielle Popstar: (voluntary donation)
[11:27] Gnarly Moonwall: click the PayPal donation button anywhere you see it.. easiest way to support this..
[11:27] albertlr Landar: Actually Currency depends on the region not the official OSgrid regions
[11:27] albertlr Landar: So there are indeed some regions that support a currency
[11:28] Lucia Fernanda: I'm writing to motivate people to donate and I'd like to include some data such as... what percentage of total osg users are donating?
[11:28] dan banner: hazumi: check the website: https://www.osgrid.org/donates.php
[11:28] albertlr Landar: want to personally thank all our administrators for their hard volunteer work they do for the grid, but especially mention Wizard and Neovo for their continuing support of the grid and its users, for Sarah's support of Wright Plaza and the Homesteads, Aussie for keeping Event Plaza rocking every week and Paela for keeping our website up and running with many good things still to come.
[11:28] Hazumi Kaze: ok thankyo Dan
 [11:28] Azi Az is online.
[11:28] sharann cousine: yes thanks to all
 [11:28] Neovo Geesink: :-)
[11:28] Em Jannings: yes - thanks you all
[11:29] albertlr Landar: And finally our President and Chief Executive Dan Banner for keeping the Grid going and on-line.
[11:29] sharann cousine: hear hear !
 [11:29] Em Jannings: whooot!
[11:29] albertlr Landar: I also wanted to acknowledge Ubit and the great work that Mr. Blue do all the time on the development of Opensim. But also mention that if you did not catch the OSCC 2024 this year, that Mr. Blue made a presentation about a new voice module he is working on.
[11:29] Snoots Dwagon: I been running 50 regions on OSG since 2018. I really, really appreciate it being here
[11:29] albertlr Landar: Here is the github for this work: https://github.com/Misterblue/os-webrtc-janus And here is his region where it has it working:
[11:29] Arielle Popstar: how many years has it been now Dan, close to 10?
 [11:30] Paela Argus: 7
[11:30] Caro Fayray: me too snoots...for 17 years
[11:30] albertlr Landar: His regions is called Blueland and be found in the map search.
 [11:30] Neovo Geesink: We're 17 now.
 [11:30] Snoots Dwagon: Woohoo Albertir!
[11:30] albertlr Landar: Thanks again for your continuing work on behalf for Opensim.
[11:30] Arielle Popstar: 9 since Nebadon left i thought
[11:30] Unadecal Masala: I don't think that such details would be useful or relevant, Lucia. There are thousands upon thousands of accounts on the grid. A good proportion are alts. The active accounts are a small subset of that, and of those, donors are an even smaller subset still. Many people simply can't afford to donate.
[11:30] Misterblue Waves: there is one webrtc voice test region on OSGrid: Blueland. Check it out, see if voice works, and report problems to https://github.com/Misterblue/os-webrtc-janus/issues
[11:31] Paela Argus: thanks misterblue for your hard work on voice you will make happy all peoples play music and break ears of other on :D :p no seriously thanks for the community of opensim
[11:31] Kaahupahau Sharpfang: Can we have a landmark for Blueland?
[11:31] Em Jannings: thanks M Blue
[11:31] Kaahupahau Sharpfang: My friends and me use Opensim very heavily with voice
[11:31] Kaahupahau Sharpfang: we'd like to test the new system
[11:31] dan banner: lucia: some users dont even login and 10 yrs later they show up again
[11:31] Lucia Fernanda: But it's not what you think Undecal, but how the community it's addressed to sees it 😊
[11:32] dan banner: so it would be difficult to say what percentage
[11:32] albertlr Landar: How we have many people to thank for their hard work during the fundraiser.
[11:32] MillyAnn Morgana: PPL been wanting to pay me for my work.. I may start asking them to donate..to OSG..LOL;-) Might help..
[11:32] albertlr Landar: So let me begin by thanking our hard working Administrators and Organizers of the 2024 fundraiser.
[11:32] Arielle Popstar: has there been an uptick of returning residents since SL brought in PBR?
[11:32] albertlr Landar: So a special thanks to those involved with the actual Fundraiser at Event Plaza, Lbsa Plaza, Almost Island and the successful auctions:

 albertlr Landar
 Caro Fayray
 Foxx Bode
 Neevo Geesink
 Danger Lytton
[11:32] Snoots Dwagon: Very lately I've had old virtual friends who are using voice more and more because their fingers can no longer type properly. A lot of us is getting older. I been on SL 20 years. LOL
[11:33] Snoots Dwagon: Which doesn't say much for my sanity. :D
[11:33] albertlr Landar: And thanks to those that donated the actual Auction Items:
[11:33] Lucia Fernanda: It would be interesting to know an approximate average, Dan
[11:33] Misterblue Waves: @Kaahupahau: just open the map (cntl-m) and search for "Blueland"

[11:33] Vixy.Sharpfang @grid.kitely.com:8002: Using SL with a BT Headset whilst in the kitchen is sufficient to prefer voice over keyboard... Ever had minced meat on your laptop?
[11:33] Snoots Dwagon: what is that list Albertir?
 [11:33] Neovo Geesink: Nice!
[11:33] albertlr Landar: And thanks to the DJ's:

[11:35] albertlr Landar: However we want to acknowledge one of the above singers that is no longer with us, as she passed away a couple of months ago, and that is Diane Shadowclaw.
 [11:35] sharann cousine: awww
 [11:35] Snoots Dwagon: awwwwww
[11:35] sharann cousine: I didnt even know
 [11:35] Caro Fayray: yes...so sad...and gizmo
 [11:35] Neovo Geesink: Ough..
[11:35] albertlr Landar: To quote Aussie who knew her better than I: "She was a fantastic entertainer and a lot loved her. Her and Dan Sings use to sing together, Dan first then Diane"
[11:35] Snoots Dwagon: Yeah, we lost some friends this year
[11:35] albertlr Landar: Diane will be missed, as well as all our other users that may have passed on this past year.
[11:36] albertlr Landar: But many thanks to everyone of you who gave their support to OSgrid and its continuing operations.
[11:36] Snoots Dwagon: Two of my most active friends are well past 80 and just trying to hang on
[11:36] albertlr Landar: And to anyone we have missed, please accept our apology and a special thanks to all those that won items at the auctions
[11:36] albertlr Landar: As you can see there were lots of people that were involved in the fundraiser.
[11:36] albertlr Landar: But you all together helped to meet the goal. And allowed us to keep the servers running and fixed.
 [11:36] Snoots Dwagon: ~*~* Appaws!! Appaws!! ~*~
[11:36] albertlr Landar: We look forward to seeing the Grid grow even more this coming new year and welcome your continuing support
[11:37] albertlr Landar: So thank you for all your support both by volunteering and donating your time and funds to keep OSgrid going for everyones benefit
[11:37] Em Jannings: thank you Albertir
[11:37] albertlr Landar: Now any questions before I go?
 [11:37] sharann cousine: ty albert
 [11:37] Caro Fayray: ty albert
[11:37] sharann cousine: what about idea of deleting reall old unused accts?
[11:37] albertlr Landar: Well thanks for coming, and everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Happy NewYear.
[11:38] Kaahupahau Sharpfang: I got a question but it is not for you specific, it is general in kind
[11:38] Caro Fayray: claps and claps and claps
[11:38] sharann cousine: wouldnt this lighten the asset load
[11:38] albertlr Landar: Please go a head with any questions
[11:38] Arielle Popstar: is the old accounts or their old content thats the prob?
[11:38] Kaahupahau Sharpfang: Wright Plaza is a kind-of newbie shopping mall, because it'S one of the landmarks i nthe default landmark package.
[11:38] Snoots Dwagon: Sharann if we did that, we'd want to make sure everyone was made aware first. Some people use old accounts for loot storage
 [11:38] sharann cousine: old content
[11:39] sharann cousine: yes of course we would notify
[11:39] sharann cousine: I mean like 7 years never comes on
[11:39] Unadecal Masala: Deleting old accounts would decrease the size of the database somewhat, but it would not purge assets from the servers
[11:39] albertlr Landar: We have Admins here that can answer most of your questions, so please do ask whats on your mind.
[11:39] Kaahupahau Sharpfang: I noticed some stalls being half empty , but saw none fully eempty last time I checked. How are those locations handled, andby whom? My friends and me we make nonhuman avatars, one or two per year only, but still...
[11:39] Arielle Popstar: bet piles forgot their password
[11:39] albertlr Landar: But I will retire, so again thanks for coming.
[11:39] sharann cousine: oh no una hmmm?
[11:39] Kaahupahau Sharpfang: We'd like to showcase them somewhere aside of Teravus
 [11:39] sharann cousine: ty albert
[11:39] Hazumi Kaze: qwell i was away sometime and have come back
[11:39] Neovo Geesink: Also, In-World creations from users might be deleted as well like items in shops when we delete unused items / inactive accounts.
[11:39] Kaahupahau Sharpfang: Or is Teravus included i nthe starter LM PAck?
 [11:40] sharann cousine: true neovo
 [11:40] Snoots Dwagon: Ty Albertir
[11:40] sharann cousine: well have a good rest of your day all
[11:40] Unadecal Masala: Again, assets remain even if accounts are deleted
[11:40] sharann cousine: got ya una
[11:40] albertlr Landar: Yes, Teravys is included
[11:40] Snoots Dwagon: Good point Neovo. Deleting accounts is always risky
[11:41] albertlr Landar: When I first landed here today, I was using an older singularity and my hair was not showing.
 [11:41] Neovo Geesink: Aii...
[11:41] albertlr Landar: So thing may not appear for a while but they will eventually.
[11:41] Snoots Dwagon: Uh, that someitmes happes with age Albertir... :D
 [11:42] Arielle Popstar: balding?
 [11:42] AMusic Man: lol
[11:42] Caro Fayray: so if you clear your inventory...duplicates and unwanted stuff...it doesnt really help?
 [11:42] Snoots Dwagon: mwahahahahahaha...
[11:42] albertlr Landar: As long as you do not delete them
[11:42] albertlr Landar: Well doing that in real life too, but thats because of the maintenenace.
[11:42] dan banner: no caro assets are not inventory
 [11:43] Caro Fayray: ok
 [11:43] Arielle Popstar: no?
[11:43] Neovo Geesink: Just make a folder like "Redundant" and move all double / unused items. Then You have a fallback, and would not affect the items / textures In-World al too much.
[11:43] dan banner: paela has a few things to update us on as well
[11:43] Vixy.Sharpfang @grid.kitely.com:8002: Assets are the actual data on the server.. Wehen an asset would be deleted, the item would be gone for everyone I presume
[11:43] Caro Fayray: so size of inventory isnt relevant?
[11:43] Paela Argus: hello everyone :)
[11:44] Jupiter Rowland: I don't think each copy of something in an inventory creates a full set of new assets.
 [11:44] sharann cousine: farewell all
[11:44] Paela Argus: I am truly grateful for the trust that Dan Banner placed in me seven years ago to revamp the entire web section. The scope of this work is immense, and the challenges it presents can sometimes be overwhelming, but it’s been a rewarding journey. I am fortunate to work alongside a dedicated and highly collaborative team of administrators.
 [11:44] Kaahupahau Sharpfang: Hai Paela!
 [11:44] Jupiter Rowland: Night Sharann!
 [11:44] Jupiter Rowland: Hi Paela!
[11:44] Misterblue Waves: the "asset lifetime" problem has been around as long as OpenSim. There have been several approaches each with its pros and cons
[11:44] dan banner: assets are forever
[11:44] albertlr Landar: thank yo paela for all you hard work.
[11:44] Caro Fayray: youve done great paela n ty
[11:44] Paela Argus: The website is undergoing significant changes, particularly in the account section, which has become outdated and is no longer sustainable in its current form. The new design will be much simpler, more user-friendly, and fluid. This overhaul will take approximately two years to complete. As residents, you see only about 9% of the site, but there is also the entire web infrastructure supporting the various Osgrid services, which requires updates as well.
[11:45] Paela Argus: This is a complex, long-term project that will demand both time and patience, especially when dealing with occasional bugs. However, rest assured that I have the experience to manage these challenges, and I am committed to ensuring a smooth process throughout.
 [11:45] Neovo Geesink: :-)
[11:46] dan banner: thats great news
 [11:46] Arielle Popstar: yay Paela
[11:46] Paela Argus: I remain, as usual, open to all ideas and questions.
[11:46] Unadecal Masala: Inventory is just a list of which assets an avatar has. it's just database entries. Assets can be "owned" by many avatars (clothes, body parts, furniture, houses, cars, etc), so even deleting an item from inventory will not delete the actual physical asset from the asset server. It will just delete the entry in the database that links your avatar to that aset
[11:46] Hazumi Kaze: soo would still be ok to build / create complex creations ?
[11:46] Arielle Popstar: Thanks for doing the upgrades Paela
[11:46] dan banner: yes hazumi new assets are not involved
[11:46] Caro Fayray: ok una ty
[11:47] Paela Argus: so any have question about webpart before i leave ?
 [11:47] Hazumi Kaze: TY Dan
[11:47] Snoots Dwagon: From what I understand, every time you create a copy of something, it creates a brand new asset totally unrelated to the original asset. So deleting an original would not delete copies. But if that asset was on a market somewhere, that vendor would stop working
[11:47] Arielle Popstar: Is trashing still on the web part?
 [11:47] dan banner: yes
[11:48] Paela Argus: yes per security only on webpart :)
[11:48] dan banner: it always will be
[11:48] Snoots Dwagon: LOL I'd totally forgotten that
[11:48] Arielle Popstar: ok. How about the old forum? Is that gone?
[11:48] dan banner: arielle: yes mostly broken now
[11:48] albertlr Landar: you can still read them, just not writable
[11:48] Paela Argus: is just read book now
[11:49] Arielle Popstar: noi chance of restoring? A lot of Osgrid history in that
[11:49] Paela Argus: he is work
 [11:49] Paela Argus: on read
 [11:49] Arielle Popstar: i see
[11:49] Snoots Dwagon: Dan, a question: is there a chance we'll ever have grid-wide group notices on OSG?
 [11:49] Paela Argus: https://forums.osgrid.org/index.php
[11:50] Snoots Dwagon: Methinks it would really really encourage events
[11:50] albertlr Landar: For the time being please go to the Wiki about important subjects.
 [11:50] albertlr Landar: https://wiki.osgrid.org/index.php/Main_Page
[11:50] Arielle Popstar: would be handy\
 [11:50] Snoots Dwagon: Would
 [11:50] Hazumi Kaze: yes
[11:50] Snoots Dwagon: We have grid-wide groups, but no grid-wide group notices
[11:51] Jupiter Rowland: Question about the blog: Does it have ActivityPub connectivity, or is that planned?
[11:51] Arielle Popstar: especially if broadcast over the hypergrid
[11:51] Paela Argus: I receive the notices on the whole grid :)
 [11:51] Arielle Popstar: black magic!
[11:51] AMusic Man: I use Chat Chanel for advertising osgrid events
 [11:51] Snoots Dwagon: mwahahahahahaha...
[11:51] Paela Argus: news is foxx work you can ask him :)
[11:52] albertlr Landar: For those of you that have not gone there, the Developers post weekly chats of what they are doing. We have do it your self test about how to set up opensim on Osgrid. Chats from the Saturday Q&A. Links to scripts, etc.
[11:52] albertlr Landar: All this in the Wiki.
[11:52] Snoots Dwagon: You mean... .read???
[11:52] Arielle Popstar: is it up to date though?
[11:52] albertlr Landar: Yes, many still do.
 [11:52] Snoots Dwagon: ;D
[11:52] albertlr Landar: yes it is
[11:53] albertlr Landar: It is updated all the time.
[11:53] Arielle Popstar: you mean the Osgrid wiki's?
 [11:53] albertlr Landar: yes
[11:53] Arielle Popstar: or meaning the Opensim one's
[11:53] albertlr Landar: The opensim wiki is separate.
[11:53] Paela Argus: ActivityPub connectivity, or is that planned? we have a channel discord
[11:54] albertlr Landar: The OSgrid is up and working about many things opensim and Osgrid.
 [11:54] albertlr Landar: https://wiki.osgrid.org/index.php/Main_Page
[11:54] Vixy.Sharpfang @grid.kitely.com:8002: I'd like to set up a OopenSim instance on a raspberry Pi or Odroid N2... is it reasonable to, as a non-programmer type, try to compile the Opensimulator package on such a platform?
[11:54] albertlr Landar: Again link to our Osgrid wkiki.
[11:55] albertlr Landar: I believe that some have tried it.
[11:55] dan banner: vixy: some have done it but performance can be an issue
[11:55] Arielle Popstar: some devs on the tuesday meeting where working on it]
[11:55] albertlr Landar: But I prefer using my windows 11
[11:55] Neovo Geesink: Would probably limit it to a single reion per Pie.
[11:55] Vixy.Sharpfang @grid.kitely.com:8002: I was on one instance running on a raspberry Pi 2 , which was not funny, but thats long outdated hardware. Thanks Arielle!
[11:55] eva Nowicka: Vixy, i had an OS 8.0 on Raspberry for a while
 [11:56] Vixy.Sharpfang @grid.kitely.com:8002: *beams and leans forward
[11:56] Em Jannings: vixy - the Raspberry PI can handle that
[11:56] Snoots Dwagon: Vixy a friend tells me that Opensim runs fine on a Pi. The isue is having enough RAM. But it works fine
[11:56] Hazumi Kaze: whispers still on W7
[11:56] Em Jannings: I use one to run Minecraft
[11:56] Paela Argus: Raspberry is good for mediaplayer etc in real but for a sim :/ its a little bit poor in performing
[11:56] Em Jannings: bit the new ones - 400 and 500
[11:56] Jupiter Rowland: A personal sim maybe, but nothing that'll attract a significant number of visitors.
[11:57] Snoots Dwagon: Of coruse it depends on the complexity of your instance
 [11:57] Em Jannings: 8GB Devian
 [11:57] Snoots Dwagon: Agreed Jupiter
[11:57] Em Jannings: not for meeting - I agree
[11:57] dan banner: thanks for coming everyone, have a wonderful holiday season and talk to you later!
[11:57] Arielle Popstar: Opensim one doesnt have to be too concerned about large region concurrencies
[11:57] Em Jannings: Merry Christmas to all
[11:57] Em Jannings: thanks to the admins
[11:57] Lee Vand: There are tuts for installing windows on raspberry and from there you can run OSgrid etc ????
[11:58] albertlr Landar: And just to remind this complete Chat will be posted today in the OSgrid Wiki.
[11:58] Snoots Dwagon: I have been so tempted to get one of those teeny weeny nano computers to run Opensim... so tempted...
[11:58] Hazumi Kaze: yes and a happy new year
[11:58] Vixy.Sharpfang @grid.kitely.com:8002: Lee, Windows has far to omuch overhead.
[11:58] Neovo Geesink: Migrated my servers and lappy to Win11 24H2 2 weeks ago, and it is doing fine still. so a decent computer with Win11 should do nicely.
[11:58] Snoots Dwagon: But went with an i5 laptop instead. :D
[11:58] Snoots Dwagon: yeah, I'm running on Win11 fine
[11:58] Caro Fayray: I would like to thank all the people who spent their free time saving our home and our assets and those that kept us informed so we didnt panic...
 [11:58] MillyAnn Morgana: yes indeed;-)TY
[11:58] Snoots Dwagon: I haz to run. Ty all for meeting!

 [12:03] albertlr Landar: Thanks Foxx
[12:03] Paela Argus: I will work on improving the publicity for the Albert meeting Q&A to help it regain its former popularity. Perhaps it would be a good idea to focus more on the web aspect and on LBSA. I’ll think about it.
[12:03] albertlr Landar: Would welcome your attendance any time Paela.
