Board of Directors Meeting of August 16th, 2026

A motion was made to begin and the meeting was opened by approving the Minutes of the previous meeting. They were sent via email, and will be posted to wiki.

Birthday regions are still up. And will be removed shortly. They server they are on has been restarted after running out of RAM.

FSassets ; We still see an issue with assets. The problem is 2 fold at the moment. The first issue is the metadata bottleneck caused by the high number of small files. The 2nd is block size is the smallest portion of a disk that can be allocated. We recently set that to the lowest value possible, but it is not enough.

This puts us in front of some serious considerations for the future. if we do not act, we will run into a bottleneck within 11-13 months. We’re considering our options, as the reality is, that with current pricing our data growth simply exceeds our budget. Financials : Feb 8th there is $3,053.98 in Paypal. Balance in Truist is at $ $5,389.22. Meaning our funds are slowly dwindling, despite having more donators.

Treasurer hence proposes a change to the bylaws that with board approval that the Treasurer will be allowed to set up and fill on a monthly basis the membership amount of $1 per region for each user that has set up more than one region on OSgrid. For other 501(c)3 educational organizations this fee could be waved. This vote has been passed.

Main Agenda 2026:

 •	The annual fundraiser is cancelled till further notice. It does not seem appropriate to hold a fundraiser when we expect a period of potentially being offline.   
 •	The next OSGrid board meeting will be held on the 6th of September 2026 at Hurliman plaza. 11.00 grid time.
